Whether gel coated or painted, the vessel requires wax/polish to protect it from UV rays, saltwater, acid rain, bird droppings and other elements in the atmosphere that will cause oxidation/dullness to the finish. The metals, powder coating, soft goods, canvas and enclosures are all affected if not treated with a protective agent. We use the best of quality products to preserve these exterior areas of the vessel with several steps that must be taken to properly detail the vessel. First, the entire vessel must be washed down inside and out, top to bottom including all storage compartments and lockers. Once dry, wax/polish is applied to all gel coat/painted surfaces down to the water line. Next all metals, soft goods, canvas and enclosure are treated with a specific product designed for the specific component.
